Bundle: Historic Racing Movies
Formula 1 – In the late
1960s, Formula 1 cars doubled their engine size and sprouted wings, which made
them incredibly quick, but also in turn far more dangerous. Formula 1 is an action-packed
documentary that captures the intensity of the racing during this unique era of
F1. As money from newfound sponsorships and worldwide television coverage put
F1 in the spotlight and brought a new level of celebrity to the sport and its
drivers, teams sought to capture victories at nearly any cost.
Can-Am The Speed
– Can-Am racing was unique in the motorsport world in that its rule book was
virtually devoid of technical restrictions, allowing designers free reign to
innovate. This in turn resulted in some incredible machines, like the Porsche
917, as well as some truly thrilling racing action. Can-Am icons Jim Hall and
Sam Posey guide us through this spectacle of speed, sound, engineering, and
fierce racing competition.
History of Motor
– The years 1960-69 are remembered as a time of great significance and
excitement in motorsport. Experience the extraordinary highs and lows of this “very
British era” as motoring historian Neville Hay recalls, with superb archive
action footage of the many memorable races and interviews with the characters
of a momentous period in Grand Prix history. Featuring Brabham, Clark, Surtees,
Hill, Stewart and Hulme and racing machinery from Lotus, BRM and Ferrari.
Niki Lauda Explains
– In this informative documentary three-time Formula One world champion Niki
Lauda charts the development of the F1 race car and the incredible engines that
have powered it. Lauda also examines driving techniques and tactics, and visits
the McLaren factory as well as the Porsche Engine Development Center for more
insight into what makes these amazing machines tick. A “master class” in
