You may be wondering, "Why did someone design an alternative head and neck restraint?" The answer is simple: to improve on the design, comfort and safety provided by one of the most important pieces of safety equipment you are requiredto purchase. Here's a brief summary of the improvements Necksgen has incorporated into the design (many more are listed below):
Comfort: The REV takes comfort to a new level... there is no frontal yoke, with no pressure on your body or collar bone. Our low profile design gives full range of head motion with no front or rear interference with your helmet.
Lateral/Angular Impact Protection: Due to the placement and angle of the lower tether mount, the NecksGen REV unit offers unsurpassed lateral and angular impact protection.
Clearance: The REV has a low profile design which creates minimal interference with the seat and helmet in the driving position.
Single Tether: The single self-aligning helmet tether creates full range of head motion while driving and offers maximum side impact protection.
The NecksGen REV units are designed and made in the USA, using the latest carbon fiber composite Dupont material. Not only are these materials lightweight, but they are extremely strong.
All NecksGen head and neck restraints have passed the mandated SFI 38.1 testing procedures. Due to the innovative features of the designs, the NecksGen head and neck restraints have surpassed our expectations in test results.
SFI 38.1 Certification
Offers lateral-impact protection in addition to frontal impact protection through its tension-neutralizing tether
Offers full range of motion, greatly increasing driver comfort and visibility
Low-profile design significantly eases egress into/out of the car
Shorter "winglets" are more comfortable and reduce the likelihood of collar-bone injuries in the event of a crash
Every unit includes:
Quick-Release Helmet Hardware (includes anchor posts for your helmet)
Available in Medium, or Large
Medium - 3" belts
Large - 3" belts
General sizing rule (see diagram below):
4"-5" neck diameter wears a medium unit
5"-6" neck diameter wears a large unit
(See numbered picture in picture gallery for diagram of components 1-6, listed below)
1. Quick Release Helmet Hardware - pictured separately
Unique single-hand quick eject helmet attachment system.
2. Emergency Pull - pictured separately
Optional pull tag for quick disconnect.
The shoulder and collarbone padding provide added comfort to the unit.
Large adult units can accept 2” or 3” seat belts. Small unit accepts 2" belts only. The wings aid in keeping your harness in place under impact. Even in multiple impact situations where the belts could loosen.
5. Tension Neutralizing Tether
Using a proprietary single tension-neutralizing tether (TNT), the loads under impact are distributed through four different load paths. This unique system offers an equal distribution of forces under impact. This system also offers a full range of head motion and side and angular impact protection.
6. Low Profile Design
The low profile design makes egress in and out of the car in an emergency easier

A: The NecksGen will work using those holes! Simply install the Quick Release helmet hardware using the backing plate (washer nut). You will have to unscrew the backing plate from the helmet hardware (backing plate is screwed to the QR helmet hardware when you buy it). The backing plate goes in the inside of your helmet - between the foam and the inside of the helmet.
Q: Do I need to adjust my tethers?
A: No, the NecksGen tethers come a fixed length which has been predetermined in testing to allow proper protection. However, all helmets are different in design and manufacture, therefore SAH2010 pre-drilled holes may be in different positions. Drivers also have different neck lengths. Some drivers may be able to move their head forward and still not feel the tension of the tethers, this is ok. In the event of an accident, the unit is held back by the seat belts, whereas the body, neck & head will move forward and away from the device. It is at this point, that the tethers will tension up to minimize neck tension.

Ratings & Reviews
Most comfortable N&N restraint.
I bought this because of its ability to be used in cars with different seatback angles. Just spent 3 days last week in a Spec Racer Ford and I couldn’t even tell I was wearing the device. It’s comfortable, with no pressure being applied to collar bones the way a Hans or Schroth unit would. The adjustable tethers are perfect for me too because I have a long neck. My brother also wore one, and adjusted his a little shorter due to his neck length. Best H&N restraint on the market.
Rev @ Lite
Used it at one track event and it fits comfortably. Installing the helmet release took about 15 minutes. I found attaching it to my helmet before getting in the car worked best. Shoulder straps stayed contained by the "ears". You can turn your head about 45 degrees side to side. Restraint straps are easy to adjust.
Awesome piece of safety gear
Extremely comfortable. This is my first head/neck safety device and after much research I'm glad this is the one I chose. I don't even feel it when strapped in to my harness. I personally believe everyone who participates in any form of track day should utilize head and neck safety and I'm glad to be a Necksgen user. The free recertification is a nice bonus on top of already being extremely light and comfortable. I hope I never have to use it for what it's for, but if I do happen to find myself in a tire wall I know I'll be glad I had it on!
Haven't had a chance to use it, but couldn't pass up the Christmas sale. I've heard REALLY good things about it and am looking forward to trying it out soon.
